Wattly Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to Wattly, a platform that facilitates connections between EV owners and individuals who have chargers available for use. By using Wattly, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are designed to ensure a safe and reliable experience for all users.
2. Installation of a Charger
If you do not already have an EV charger, you must have one professionally installed at your home or premises. Wattly does not provide installation services, and we strongly recommend using a certified electrician to ensure the safety and compliance of your charger with local regulations.
3. Listing Your Charger
Once your charger is installed, you can list it on the Wattly platform by providing accurate details, including its location, type, and availability. You are responsible for ensuring that the information provided is accurate and up-to-date. You can adjust your availability at any time to suit your schedule.
4. Wattly’s Role as a Booking Platform
Wattly acts solely as a booking platform to connect EV owners with available chargers. We do not own, operate, or control the chargers listed on our platform. Therefore, Wattly is not responsible for the condition, operation, or safety of the chargers, nor do we guarantee the accuracy of the information provided by charger hosts.
5. Receiving Bookings
By listing your charger on Wattly, you agree to allow EV owners in your area to book it for charging their vehicles. You have the right to accept or decline any booking request at your discretion. You are responsible for ensuring that your charger is functional and accessible at the agreed time.
6. Payments and Fees
When an EV owner uses your charger, the payment is processed through Wattly. We hold all payments for a period of 30 days to ensure there are no disputes or issues with the transaction. After this period, the payment will be released to your account.
Fee Structure:
For the first 12 months after your registration on Wattly, a promotional fee structure applies:
- 5% of the transaction amount plus a £2.50 standard fee for both the EV charger host and the EV car owner.
After the initial 12-month period, the fee will increase to:
- 8% of the transaction amount plus the £2.50 standard fee for both the EV charger host and the EV car owner.
Typical Example:
For a charging fee of £10 during the initial launch period:
- For the EV Charger Host:
- 5% of £10 = £0.50
- Plus £2.50 standard fee
- Total fee: £3.00
- Net earnings: £10 − £3.00 = £7.00
- For the EV Car Owner:
- 5% of £10 = £0.50
- Plus £2.50 standard fee
- Total fee: £3.00
- Total cost to the EV owner: £10 + £3.00 = £13.00
7. User Responsibilities and Liability
As a charger host, you are fully responsible for ensuring that your charger is safe, operational, and compliant with all relevant laws and regulations. You must also maintain appropriate insurance for any risks associated with the use of your charger. Wattly does not provide insurance or cover any damages, losses, or liabilities that may arise from the use of your charger by others.
By using the Wattly platform, you acknowledge that any interactions or transactions between charger hosts and EV owners are solely at your own risk. Wattly shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or injury resulting from the use of a charger listed on the platform.
8. Liability and Disclaimers
Wattly provides a booking service and is not responsible for the actual provision of charging services. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or availability of any charger listed on the platform. Users agree to hold Wattly harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the use of the platform or the chargers listed.
9. Termination and Modifications
Wattly reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes. Wattly also reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms or engage in any fraudulent or illegal activities.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
