Three ways to use Wattly
Book a neighbour's home charger or share your own, whether you need a charge or have one to spare.
Who it's for
Who is Wattly for?
Anyone in the UK who drives an electric car, or owns a charger that could do more.
Why it exists
Why does Wattly exist?
Home chargers sit idle for much of the day, while many EV drivers have nowhere off-street to charge at all. Wattly connects the two.
If you can't charge where you live, a charger on a neighbour's driveway can be the closest place to plug in. Wattly lets you book one by the hour, with the full price shown before you confirm.
Sharing those home chargers puts equipment that already exists to better use, gives drivers more places to charge, and gives hosts a way to earn from it.
Trust and safety
Is Wattly safe to use?
Money moves through Stripe, hosts decide when and how their charger is used, and everyone's responsibilities are written down.
What hosts agree to
Hosts confirm their charger was installed by a qualified installer, that they've told their insurer they share it, and that they have permission from their landlord or freeholder where needed. Wattly doesn't provide insurance, so hosts and drivers keep their own cover.
App coming soon · iOS & Android
Is there a Wattly app?
Yes, and it's coming soon to iPhone and Android. In the app you'll find, book, pay for and start a charge, and hosts will manage availability, bookings and earnings. Until then, the map works on the website.

FAQ
Questions about Wattly
Booking and hosting questions are covered on How it works and Become a host.
Is Wattly an app or a website?
Both. The website map shows Wattly home chargers today. The Wattly app for iPhone and Android is coming soon and adds booking and paying for a neighbour's home charger, plus tools for hosts to manage availability and earnings.
Do I need the app to find a charger?
No. The map at wattly.co.uk/map works in any web browser and shows Wattly home chargers near a postcode, town or your current location. Booking opens with the Wattly app, coming soon.
Can I use Wattly if I don't have a driveway?
Yes. That is one of the main reasons Wattly exists. Drivers without off-street parking can book a nearby host's home charger for a set time.
Is Wattly available outside the UK?
Not at the moment. Wattly is built for the UK: accounts are for people aged 18 or over who live in the UK, prices and payouts are in pounds, and hosts list chargers in the UK.
How does Wattly make money?
Wattly takes a platform fee on home charger bookings, shown before you book. Searching the map and listing a charger are free.
